Horizons New (PicoCAD model)

For PicoCAD Jam 16: Animals, liberal interpretation of theme, not sure if encouraged (if not, sorry). 

This is my first model without textures (the optional jam limitation). 

It's also extremely close to the maximum size despite deleting as many faces as I could. The water would ideally have been a cuboid to prevent the slight clipping seen here, but I ran out of space, and had to make it a plane. Any tips on optimisation welcome, this was by far the most difficult aspect of this model for me.
